About 95,000 pounds of Johnsonville’s ready-to-eat jalapeno cheddar smoked sausages were recalled due to the presence of “extraneous material,” U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) officials announced Saturday.
The jalapeno cheddar smoked sausages were produced and packaged on March 12 and 13 2019. The meat products subject to recall have a “best by” date of 06/09/2019, and “EST.34224” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
The company took the decision of recalling its product after they received a complained from a customer about the presence of green hard plastic in the sausage.
At this point, “there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions,” the agency said, adding that anyone with the recalled packages shouldn’t eat them. Consumers should either toss them out or return them, the agency said.
