Kanye West is the creator of the clothing brand Yeezy. Vogue claims that the rapper credited with songs like ‘Fade’ and ‘Ultralight Beam’ is now granting a chance to young and aspiring fashion designers to shine through the launch of an incubator which will give them financial help and mentorship.
As of now, one recipient of the grant exists – Maisie Schloss is a Chicago native whi has graduated from Parsons School of Design. Her career began as a designer for the Yeezy women’s wear.
She has benefitted greatly from this grand is set to launch her own clothing line in LA and Paris in the beginning of June 2019. This line is made of 85 pieces the prices of which range from $100 to $950, and seeks inspiration from robotics.
Schloss has acknowledged that working with West has been an irreplaceable part of her fashion career.
In her words, Yeezy was a special environment where growth and developing a career were promoted. She began as an assistant, but with the help of the creative and unconventional atmosphere, she was visible and was able to contribute to many projects. She said that Kanye generously offered to support her and cared about sharing his resources with her in order to make opportunities where she and other creatives were allowed to grow and seek recognition.
